Getting Started
8ClickUp to Sheets is a Google Workspace add-on that synchronizes data between ClickUp and Google Sheets. It allows you to view, analyze, and (with two-way sync) edit ClickUp data directly in Google Sheets, eliminating manual exports forever.
ClickUp to Sheets offers a 7-day free trial with no credit card required. After the trial, you can choose from our Starter, Pro, or Business plans based on your needs. The Business Plan is required for two-way sync functionality.
Open Google Sheets, click on the "Extensions" menu, select "Add-ons", and then "Get add-ons". Search for "ClickUp to Sheets" and install it. Once installed, you can access it from the right panel sidebar.
ClickUp to Sheets is perfect for project managers, team leads, executives, and anyone who needs to analyze ClickUp data, create custom reports, or manage tasks in bulk. It's especially valuable for teams that rely on spreadsheets for reporting and data analysis.
No technical knowledge is required. If you're familiar with Google Sheets and ClickUp, you'll find ClickUp to Sheets intuitive and easy to use. We provide thorough documentation and support to help you get started.
You can disconnect your current ClickUp account from the menu in the top right corner of the add-on. Then, reconnect using any ClickUp account you want. Make sure you are logged into the desired ClickUp account in your browser before reconnecting.
If you encounter authentication issues, try refreshing the page and logging in again. If problems persist, use the "Reset Connection" option in the add-on settings to reestablish your ClickUp connection.

Syncing
9You can export tasks (from lists or views), time entries (with flexible date ranges), users (for workspace audits), custom fields (including all field types), comments, attachments, and task relationships.
Up to 10,000 tasks when synchronizing a list and up to 3,000 tasks when synchronizing a view. There are no limits on how many different lists or views you can sync (based on your plan). Very large datasets may take longer to initially sync, but the tool is optimized to minimize impact on spreadsheet performance.
Scheduled syncs run every three hours to refresh your data while staying within ClickUp and Google Sheets API limits. You can also manually trigger a sync at any time. If you exceed an API limit, the application will show a friendly error message and retry your operation when possible.
Yes, you can connect to multiple ClickUp workspaces and sync data from each of them into different sheets or even the same spreadsheet.
Two-way sync allows you to edit ClickUp tasks in Google Sheets and have those changes sync back to ClickUp (Business plan). Editable columns are highlighted in light purple. Tasks you modify show green highlighting, and new tasks show blue, so you can review all changes before they sync. Note: view syncs support editing existing tasks only, not creating new ones. Task creation is available in list syncs.
You can update up to 200 tasks in a single two-way sync operation. If you add more tasks, they will be removed from the sheet before the two-way sync process to maintain performance and reliability.
Yes, you can update task assignees, due dates, statuses, priorities, custom fields, and more directly from Google Sheets. This makes batch updating much faster than doing it one-by-one in ClickUp.
For scheduled syncs, use the "Repair Scheduled Sync" option on the homepage. For two-way sync issues, check if the "Two-way Sync Active" indicator appears. If not, click "Activate Two-way Sync". If it's already active, use "Repair Sync Issues" to recreate the edit trigger. Make sure your spreadsheet has a name and you have owner permissions. You can also delete the sync and associated sheet and create a new one.
We recommend not deleting or rearranging columns in synced sheets. However, you can safely resize columns and hide columns without affecting the sync. If you need to customize your view, create a new sheet that references the data from the synced sheet using QUERY, FILTER, or other Google Sheets functions.
Dashboards & Reports
4Task Dashboard shows task metrics, workflow health, and best practices. Time Dashboard analyzes time tracking entries across projects and users. User Dashboard provides insights into user activity and potential seat optimizations.
The Task Dashboard provides metrics on task completion rates, overdue tasks, workflow bottlenecks, and workload distribution. These insights help identify process improvements and resource allocation needs.
The Time Dashboard shows total hours logged, billable time, weekly trends, project breakdowns, and work pattern analysis by hour of day. This helps with client billing, resource planning, and productivity analysis.
Absolutely! Since your data is in Google Sheets, you can create custom charts, graphs, and dashboards using Google Sheets' built-in tools. You can also connect to data visualization tools like Google Data Studio for more advanced reporting.
Account & Billing
7Starter Plan: Sync up to 3 lists, scheduled syncs, time entries, and user syncs. Pro Plan: Unlimited syncs, scheduled syncs, time entries, user syncs, and report generation. Business Plan: All Pro features plus two-way sync capabilities.
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. If you upgrade, you'll immediately gain access to additional features. If you downgrade, your new plan limitations will apply at the start of your next billing cycle.
When your 7-day trial ends, you'll be prompted to select a plan to continue using ClickUp to Sheets. If you don't subscribe, your syncs will stop working, but your data will remain in your spreadsheets until you delete it.
You can access your Stripe customer portal from the billing section in the add-on. From there you can view invoices, update your payment method (we accept all major credit cards), add or remove user seats, or cancel your subscription.
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with ClickUp to Sheets within the first 30 days of your paid subscription, contact us for a full refund.
ClickUp to Sheets operates within the Google Workspace security model and only accesses the data you explicitly authorize. No data is stored outside of your Google account or ClickUp workspace. Your API token is encrypted and protected by Google; we never have access to it. Note: ClickUp to Sheets does not provide backups of your data. We recommend using Google Drive's version history for important spreadsheets. While we design for reliability, you are responsible for any risks associated with using the tool to manipulate your ClickUp data.
ClickUp to Sheets requires permission to access your Google Sheets documents and to make external requests to the ClickUp API. These permissions are necessary for the core functionality of syncing data between platforms.
